How to make a passport photo

  1. Take a photo. Face the camera, neutral expression, eyes open, good light from the front. A plain wall helps but is not required.
  2. Choose size and background. The ID photo tab opens automatically. Pick the size and the background colour your country asks for.
  3. Place the face and download. Adjust the crop so the face fits the oval, then download the photo or a 6×4 inch print sheet.

Questions

Will my passport photo be accepted?

Each country has its own rules (size, head height, background, glasses, expression). The tool gives you the right size and a clean background; please check the official rules of your passport office before printing.

Which size do I need?

35×45 mm is used in many countries, for example the UK, the EU, India and Pakistan. The USA uses 2×2 inches (51×51 mm). Check the form you are filling in.

How do I print it?

Download the 6×4 inch print sheet and print it as a normal photo print at a photo shop or pharmacy, then cut out the copies.
